Opal Beauchamp, 82, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2015. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 19, at Cottonwood Baptist Church, 886 FM 2643, Lorena, with Pastor Buddy Sipe officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 5-7:00 p.m., Friday, September 18, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive, Waco.
Opal was born August 19, 1933, in Ozark, Arkansas, to Paul and Lula Crutchfield. Growing up, she loved to play tennis, which continued into her adult life. On April 23, 1950, she married Bryan Beauchamp, and they spent 65 wonderful years together. They loved to dance and were each other’s favorite dance partner. He thought she was the most wonderful person in the world he ever knew. Opal was a member of Cottonwood Baptist Church. She taught Sunday school for many years; she loved spending time with all children. She was known as an excellent cook and volunteered cooking and serving for Meals on Wheels. She was very creative and enjoyed sewing, quilting, and helped her husband and son in building several of the family homes they lived in.
Opal is survived by her husband Bryan Beauchamp; son Ben Beauchamp and wife Janet; daughter Randi Sue Crouser and husband Chuck; sister Wanda Parker; grandchildren, Suzanne Dehart and husband Mike, Julie Walker, Jacinda Severs, Charles Crouser, Coley Crouser, and Rebekah Miller and husband Joey; and 8 great grandchildren.
