Odell Williams, 87, of Waco, passed away Sunday, September 14, 2014. Funeral services will be 10a.m. Wednesday, September 17, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive, Waco. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Bosque County. The family will receive visitors 6 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 16 at the funeral home.
Odell was born August 28, 1927 in Houston, to Willie and Jewel Williams. He married Bonnie Jones Williams on July 8, 1950. Odell ministered to the elderly for over 30 years volunteering at many nursing homes including Crestview Nursing Home, Quality Care, Lake Shore and several others.
Odell was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bonnie Williams; brother, Winfred Williams; sister, Violet Perkins; daughters, Judy Elaine White and Bonnie Jane Brengel; grandson, Christopher Brengel; great-grandson, Traestin White; great-granddaughters, Trinity White and Lily Ann White.
Odell is survived by his granddaughter, Ronda White, of Axtell; grandsons, Josh Brengel and wife Jessica of Lorena and Edward White of Stow, Ohio; brothers, Willie Williams and wife Ruby, of Axtell and Troy Gene Williams and wife Lisa of Robinson; great-grandsons, Jaden Silva, of Axtell, Cross White, of Axtell, Christopher Brengel of Lorena; great-granddaughters Cortney White, Makayla White, Kaityln White, and Josie White, all of Stow, Ohio, and Riley Brengel of Lorena; and a great-great-granddaughter, Briella White, of Akron, Ohio.
The family would like to give special thanks to Mary McCauley for all that she did to help. They would also like to give special thanks to Brandy, Karen, Lucy, and all the other nurses on the 4th floor at Hillcrest and the hospice staff that took such excellent care of Odell.
