Norman Lynn Rains

Norman Lynn Rains, 84 of Northcrest went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 9, 2025 at Baylor Scott and White Hillcrest. He was surrounded by family and friends. Memorial services will be held at 11 am Monday, March 17 with Dr. Cary Killough officiating. There will be a visitation one hour prior, starting at 10 am.

Norman was born on November 7, 1940 in Lake Creek, Texas, the 8th child of Fannie Elizabeth and Ellis Rains. He graduated from Lufkin High School in 1959. After high school he joined the army and was stationed in Fort Ord, CA. On December 22, 1961, he married the love of his life, Louanna Mooney. They settled in Waco, Texas. where they raised their family. He spent 32 years with American Greetings before retiring in 2001.

Norman was a dedicated family man who loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a quiet man but, when he spoke you listened. Norman loved to be outside piddling with his plants. He was a member of Meadow Brook Baptist Church.

Norman is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Louanna Rains; son, Greg Rains and wife Cynthia, daughter, Renee Rains; brother-in-law, Roshal Mooney and wife Felecia; grandchildren, Gary Fuston, Melissa Fuston, Justin Rains and wife Andrea, Wesley Warrick and wife Mallory, Tyler Rains and wife Courtney, Kevin Warrick and wife Honor; great-grandchildren, Matthew DuPas, Harper Rains, Aubrey Warrick, Layton Fuston, Landry Rains, Emmett Rains, Wyatt Rains, Greyson Warrick, Maddux Fuston, Willa Warrick, Ridley Rains and Wittyn Warrick.

He was preceded in death by sweet sleeping angels, Linnlee Rains, Arden Warrick, Baker Warrick and Covee Jo Warrick.
