Nelda L. Adler, 85, of Waco, TX, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2022, surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 10, at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 2000 Clay Ave, Waco, TX, with Rev. Peter Kolb officiating. Interment will follow at Prairie Hill Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6 – 8:00 p.m., Friday, Dec. 9, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive, Waco.
Nelda was born May 11, 1937, in Delia, TX, to John and Alice (Rogers) Compton. Nelda was a kind and caring person, with a personality larger than life and she never knew a stranger. She was a good Christian woman who loved her Lord, church, and her church family. Nelda married Alton Ervin Adler on Nov. 26, 1955. She worked for many years at Kmart in the cashier’s office.
Nelda was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Alton Adler; her parents; son, Steven Adler; three brothers and one sister.
She is survived by her daughter, Lori Haisler and husband Charles; son, John David Adler; sister, Lorene Compton; five grandchildren, Brandon Adler, Jeremy Adler, Justin Adler and wife Bobbie, Ashley Smith and husband Johnathan, and Christina Haddadin and husband Fuad; and ten great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Sharon Aldridge for her compassionate care of their mother.
