Nancy McAdams

Nancy McAdams was born on November 8, 1943, in Dallas, Texas and on December 8, 2023, went to be with her Lord at the age of 80. She was the youngest of three children born to Louis A. and Adeline Pierson Logan. The family moved to the Clifton area, where Nancy attended school. She met and married Donald “Buck” Light and they moved around due to his job in road construction. They moved to Lacy Lakeview and raised their four children, Teresa, Bryan, Brent, and Stacie. Her and Buck moved to China Spring and built a house and divorced a year later.
Nancy met and married Guard “Bud” McAdams in 1984. They lived in Lacy Lakeview for a little while and then moved to Indiana, then to Marietta, Georgia, and finally to Kilgore, Texas. They enjoyed attending Auctions and later operating their own Auctions. They owned and operated Guard’s Bait Shop and Nan’s Furniture Store until Bud’s death in 2014. Nancy then moved back to Waco to live closer to her children.
Nancy worked at her church St. Mark Lutheran School while the children were growing up and later attended 4C College in Waco. After completing her courses, she started working at American-Amicable Life Insurance Company. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, as well as reading and making Norwegian Cookies for the holidays.
Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, husband Guard “Bud” McAdams, sister Lou Ann Johnson, brother Freddie Logan and wife Gayle, stepson Buddy McAdams, grandsons Brent Logan Light II, Jacob Phillips, and Brandon Mason and nephew Kevin Logan.
She is survived by her children: Teresa (E.L.) Drahn of Payette, Idaho; Bryan (Brenda) Light; Brent (Robin) Light and Stacie Mason (Jimmy Berry) all of Robinson. Stepdaughters, Tina (Rick) McAdams Martin of Glasgow, Kentucky; Tammy (Eddie) McAdams Connery of Saint Albans, WV; Yolanda McAdams Hardin of China Spring, Jenny McAdams Phillips of Indianapolis, IN, and daughter-in-law Loretta McAdams Conner of Waco. 8 Grandchildren: Brittney (Glen) Loth, Amanda (Matthew) Scott, Brandy (Cody) Frasier, Kristin (Kyle) Rendessy, Adam Light (Kristi), Callye Light (Quan), Tate (Erika) Mason, and Shane Light. 10 great-grandchildren: Hayden, Bonnie, Kynley, Steven, Mason, Katelynn, Samuel, Lilyanna, Kennedy, and Reid. Brother-in-law Johnny Johnson, Sister-in-law Sissy (John) Redden, nephew Wayne (Tracy) Hollingsworth, nieces Sheila Rashleigh and Cheryl (Johnny) Rounsavall, along with many step-grandchildren, step great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to her special friends at the North Crest Court Apartments.
As per her request, there will not be any services at this time and the family will wait until the summer of 2024 to hold a Celebration of Life.
