Nancy Abbott

Nancy L. Abbott, 82, of McGregor, passed away Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday, August 6 at Rosemound Cemetery, 3201 S. 12th Street, Waco. The family will receive visitors 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, August 5 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 N. Robinson Dr., Waco.

Nancy was born September 9, 1938 in Model, Tennessee to Jesse Dean and Velma Mai (Chadwick) Hicks. She enjoyed traveling, loved spending time with family, but most of all being a grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Dean Hicks and Velma Mai (Chadwick) Addison; first husband, Buster Ray Davis; second husband, Lawrence Earl Abbott; sons, Dennis Ray Davis and Gerald Abbott; great-grandsons, Joshua Weaver and Luke Benson; brother, Charles Hicks Sr., nephew, Charles Hicks Jr., sister-in-law, Glenda Hicks.

Nancy is survived by her five children; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; sister, Diane Pryjda and husband Bish of Ohio; sisters, Polly Atchison Churchwell and Debbie Oberst; brother, Gene Hicks and wife Mary, all of Tennessee; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
