Myrna Joyce Raborn, 76, passed away peacefully August 25, 2014 with family at her side. Per her request, there will be no formal service. It was her wish for all to remember her as she was before her illness.
Myrna was born at home in Waco on N. 12th Street on September, 13, 1937 to William and Daisy Headley. She graduated from Waco High School in 1956, and married Paul Raborn, Jr. on May 14, 1957. They lived in Robinson for the last 54 years where they raised their four children.
Myrna was a member of Faith Temple Baptist Church in Lorena, the Waco Iris Society and the Chickasaw Nation. She taught countless numbers of children to swim at the YWCA’s Tiny Tot program. She enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, fossil hunting, playing canasta and watching the Rangers and the Astros.
She was proceeded in death by her eldest son, Mark Raborn.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 57 years, son Todd Raborn and wife Gayle, son Lindsey Raborn, and daughter Amy Raborn; grandchildren: Jay, Paul, Aaron, Allison, Kayla, Austin and Tommy; and extended family and friends, including dear friend Charlie Green.
The family wishes to express sincere thanks to the hospitalist group at Providence Health Center and the hospice unit at Scott and White – Hillcrest for their loving care.
