Myra Jane Ward

Myra Barabas Ward, age 99, Beloved Mother, Nana and a friend to many passed away peacefully on December 26, 2024.  

She was born on June 11, 1925 to her parents, Robert Lee Boggs and Ima Valley Boggs. She is preceded in death by not only her parents; but, also her two spouses, Daniel J. Barabas and Leldon Ward, as well as her great grandson, Daniel Shane Coker, Jr. 

She was married to Daniel J. Barabas for 37 years and they had four children, William D. Barabas, Linda K. Mackey, Cynthia Barabas Coker, and Daniel R. Barabas. Later in life she was married to Leldon Ward for 8 years. She is survived by her four children and daughter-in-law, Lisa Barabas. She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren, Jacob, Eva, Kimberley, Christopher, Jennifer, Chelsea, Brad, Shane, Tyler, and Kara. Additionally, she is survived by 17 great grandchildren and an abundance of friends. All of her family and friends cherish her memory. 

Early in her life she was employed as a secretary. Later she became a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant / Sales Director for more than 45 years, devoting herself to the needs of women of all ages. She was always mindful of her appearance and helped all women look their best every day.  

Throughout her life, Myra was a go-getter and enjoyed life to the fullest. In the last years of her life, she was most happy at the Harrison Senior Center in Waco, TX where she participated in various games and activities and visited with friends. Above all, she always enjoyed being surrounded by family. She was a member of Lakewood Christian Church (now Renew Church) for many decades. 

Services will be held Monday, January 6, 2025 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home in Waco, Tx with Pastor Kip Osborne officiating. Services will begin at 1:00pm and attendees are welcome to gather as early as noon. Interment will immediately follow at Waco Memorial Park.
