Molly Darlene Cureton, 70, of Lorena passed away Sunday, September 12, 2021 surrounded by her family. Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, September 18 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 N. Robinson Dr., Waco with Pastor Kelsey Fitting-Snyder officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Lorena Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, September 17 at the funeral home.
Molly was born July 10, 1951 to James Cummings and Myrtle Garner in Fort Worth, Texas. She married Jerry Lynn Cureton on August18, 1967 in Waco, Texas. She worked for 42 years at American Income Life Insurance Company in their accounting department. Molly enjoyed two-stepping and riding motorcycles with her husband Jerry. She loved to read books, cross stitch, and watch the Lady Bears play basketball. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Toni Lynette Cureton-Wampler; grandson, Colton Riley Gill; parents, James and Naomi Cummings; mother, Myrtle Garner; sisters, Joyce and Linda.
Molly is survived by her husband of 54 years, Jerry Cureton; daughter, Teresa Jo Umberger and husband Jason; grandsons, Macoy Umberger, Mason Gill, and Mathew Umberger; brother, James Cummings; sister, Vivian Griffith and husband Tommy; along with numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
