Millicent “Millie” Faith Smith, age 85, passed away at Ridgecrest Retirement and Health Care facility in Waco, TX, on December 28, 2023.
Millie was born June 16, 1938, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Herschel M. and Laura M. (Turley) Rocke. She worked numerous jobs that included Dairy Queen, Marathon Battery, Veterans Administration and Waco Independent School District. Millie was a member of the Channelview, TX, Eastern Star Chapter. She loved watching her sons play little league baseball in Channelview. Millie had many friends and she cherished them all.
Survivors include sons, Jerold “Jerry” P. Knox, Jr., and wife Rhonda of Fort Worth, TX, William D. Knox of Waco, TX; son, Tommy Smith of Waco, TX; daughter, Pam Smith of Waco, TX; granddaughter-in-law, Kacie Knox of Watauga, TX; great-granddaughter Irie Knox of Watauga, TX; granddaughter, Kayla Smith of Waco, TX; great-granddaughter, Serenity Smith of Waco, TX; great-granddaughters Morgan Magill of Hudson Oak, TX, Rylie Wood of Weatherford, TX; nephew Todd Rocke of Port Alberni, British Columbia, Canada; niece Wanda Demboske and husband Stan of Concan, TX; niece Elaine Hegglund and husband Bernie of Hot Springs, AR; niece Becky Hlavaty and husband Mark of Mico, TX; nephew, Leon Knox and wife Treva of Baytown, TX; niece Nancy Fitzwater and husband Kyle of Mont Belvieu, TX; very good friends, Bob and Debbie Huggins of Riesel, TX; along with numerous other great-nieces and great-nephews and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
Millie was preceded in death by her former husband, Jerold P. Knox; husband Clyde V. Smith; parents, Herschell and Laura (Turley) Rocke; brother, Milton M. Rocke; sister-in-law, Joanna Rocke; niece Roxanne Cornell; niece Kelly Tretiak; grandson, Marshall Knox; son, Tony Smith; son, Stephen Paul Knox; nephew Charles Warner; nephew Robert Warner; and niece Carole Collins.
Viewing will be from 6-8pm, Friday, January 5, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home. Services will be 10am, Saturday, January 6, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Relatives and friends are welcome to the viewing and service. There will be a luncheon at Waco First Assembly of God, 6701 Bosque Blvd, Waco, following the service. All are welcome to attend.
