Mildred Fay Mooneyham was born at her home on April 4, 1931, in Waco, Texas. She was the daughter of Carley Mooneyham and Ruth Cox Mooneyham. Fay had one older sister, Dorothy Logan Gaigalas. Faye passed into eternal life on August 23, 2023.
Fay graduated from La Vega High School in 1949. She was a Pentecostal pioneer and a founding member of The Church of the Lord Jesus Christ at 202 Bosque Street in Waco. She attended her first service when she was two weeks old. She gave her life to the Lord at the age of 14, on June 25, 1945, under the pastorship of Frank Martin. The church was later known as First Pentecostal Church and today it is River City, located at 3015 Robinson Drive.
Fay was employed by Central Freight Lines working in the Accounts Payable Department. She retired in September 1996 after 32 years of service. She served as receptionist in the River City church office from 1999 to 2016. Her likes include attending church, reading, and being with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Dorothy and her husband Frank Gaigalas, and nephews-in-law Paul Blades and Bob Moore.
Fay is survived by her nieces Monette Blades, and Jeanette Moore, her nephews David and wife Vicki Gaigalas, Daniel and wife Cindy Gaigalas. She also has several great nieces, nephews, and several great greats.
Visitation will be held at Pecan Grove on Monday, August 28, from 6:00pm to 8:00 pm, with services at River City, at 3015 Robinson Drive, on Tuesday, August 29, at 10:00 am with Pastor Robert Nelson officiating. Interment will follow at Waco Memorial Park.
