Michael Duncan

July 29, 1948 — December 14, 2013

Michael Lee Duncan, 65, of Waco passed away Saturday, December 14. Private services will be held Saturday, December 21. Michael was a kind, compassionate, witty and intelligent man who gave generously of himself to all he knew. He graduated from Midway High School and Baylor University. He worked and retired as a Reference Librarian at the McLennan County Public Library. Michael loved his job, the people with whom he worked, and the adults and children he was happy to assist for many years. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey and Lillian Duncan; his sister, Nancy Tant; grandparents, Fred and Maude Duncan of Temple, and John and Minnie Trimmier of Bland; and nephew, Kelly Lewis. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, sisters Audrey Freeman and Teresa Duncan Mortimer and husband Bernard. He leaves nieces and nephews, Kathy LoGrasso, Duncan Tandy and wife Barbara, Julie Morgan and husband Bill, Amy Lezon and husband Don Nipper, and Megan Lewis. Additional survivors include great nieces and nephews Alana Hyatt and husband Michael, James Grant, Kate Grant, Melissa Buck and husband Cody, Audrey Morgan, Leslie Lezon, J.P. Fogle, David Fogle and Jenna Fogle. He also had too many relatives and friends to mention. Michael will be interred beside his beloved mother and sister at Moffat Cemetery. His family would like Michael to be remembered with these quotes from William Shakespeare: “When he shall die, take him and cut him out in little stars. And he will make the face of Heaven so fine that all the world will be in love with night and pay no worship to the garish sun.” – Romeo and Juliet “Now cracks a noble heart. Good-night, sweet prince; and flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.” – Hamlet
