Michael James Adams, 54, of Robinson, TX went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 21, 2024 surrounded by family and friends at his residence. Funeral services will be held at Pecan Grove Funeral Home in Waco, TX, on Monday, January 29th at 1:00 pm with Roger West officiating. Entombment will follow at Waco Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive visitors from 2-4 pm on Sunday, January 28th at the funeral home.
Mike was born May 4, 1969 in Fort Riley, Kansas. He graduated from Ooltewah High School in 1987 and was known as “Mr. School Spirit.” He met his lifelong love and “Babydoll”, Darlene, in 2008, marrying in 2010. He was a devoted family man whose love knew no bounds. He embraced the title of Father, Son, Husband and Pop Pop proudly.
Mike loved his country and served in the US Navy, training as a Navy Seal. He had a selfless and tireless work ethic. He was a huge history buff, enjoyed his coffee and Mountain Dew, and more recently, gardening. Mike was a die-hard Georgia Bulldog fan! Above all, he was a true family man with a strong love for the Lord, a role model and a cherished Pop Pop, who never failed to be involved in his grandchildren’s activities. His legacy of love, service and family bond will forever remain in our hearts.
Mike is survived by his wife, Darlene Adams. Mom, Carol Wilson and step-father, Tim. Father, Jim Adams and step-mother Kay. His children, Jessica Wray and husband Brandon Wray, Austin Adams, Heather Grabenstein and husband Justin Grabenstein, Amanda Kelm and husband Dustin Kelm, Ashley Eickenhorst, Nick Lucas and wife Makenzie Lucas. His grandchildren, Brayden, Tyler, Gabe, Haylei, Alli, Maddi, Landri, Elijah, Micah, Tatum, Harlee, Tucker and Jaxon James. His siblings, Jeni Wells, Lori Ibold and Jason Adams. His cherished aunts, Jewell Roberts and Willette Kelly. His brother-in-law, Randy House and Kim Allen; sister-in-law, Sherry Zanter; brother-in-law, Scoville “Buddy” House and wife Teresa. Many other friends and family, as well as his beloved pets; Rocky, Presley and Layla.
Pallbearers are: Randy House, Justin Grabenstein, Dustin Kelm, Brandon Wray, T.J. Millsaps and Colby Zanter. Honorary Pallbearers are: Bill Parks, Scott Roberts, Allen Roberts, Brian Roberts, Daulton Spore and John Ashley.
A special thank you from the family, to Tammy Zanter, for her constant love, support and bedside care during Mike’s battle, as well as Sherry Lundy, one of Mike’s favorite teachers, who made a lifelong impact on his life.
