Melvin Ray Horton Jr passed away unexpectedly on January 18th, 2023, in the comfort of his own home.
Melvin was born on February 9th, 1960, in Waco, Texas. The same place he would later meet the love of his life, Charlotte Horton and continue a beautiful journey of 38 years together. He had the biggest heart for his family. He started his career as a member of the UA local union 529 in February of 1999 and took so much pride in his 24 years there. He was a great man who loved spending time with his friends and family, fishing, working on his Ford truck, and Miller Lite. Melvin made everyone around him feel important and was always there to help anyone who needed it.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Charlotte Horton; his parents, four daughters, a son, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, his four siblings, and many in-laws with whom he shared a great relationship.
There will be a private visitation for family and close friends at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive, Waco, on Wednesday, January 25, from 6 – 8:00 p.m., to celebrate his life.
