Mary Elizabeth Wright, 92, of Waco, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2016. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 28, at Lorena Cemetery.
Mary was born September 13, 1923, to William and Lillian Aerl in Lorena, TX. In 1940, she married Lyle H. Wright in Lorena. He was in the military and they traveled to Germany, Japan, France, and many other countries. After her husband’s death in 1968, Mary moved to Waco with her two sons. The eldest was in the Navy, serving in the Vietnam War. She worked at Goldstein-Miguel as a sales lady, and she volunteered at the Red Cross. She then attended MCC, receiving her nursing degree. Mary loved bridge and playing regularly at the Hamilton House.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; son, Lyle Wright, Jr.; her husband Col. Lyle Wright, Sr.; sons Robert C. Wright, William C. Wright; grandson Michael Wright; and brothers William D. Aerl and Jerry Bob Aerl.
Mary is survived by her son Donald C. Wright; daughter-in-law Mary K. Wright, both of Waco; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
