Mary K. Osborne, 85, of Waco, passed away on Friday, October 21, 2022.

The family will receive visitors from 4 to 6 PM Thursday, October 27, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 N. Robinson Dr, Waco, TX 76706. A graveside service will be held Friday, October 28, at 1 PM at Cottonwood Cemetery, FM 2643 Lorena, TX 76655 with Pastor Aryn Mojica officiating.
Mary (Kurtz) Osborne was born to Herman and Henrietta Lehmann Kurtz in Falls County, Texas on February 6, 1937.
Mary married James William Osborne in 1954. Mary was an avid athlete throughout her life. She loved basketball and was the Central Texas leading scorer, averaging forty-two points per game. She played some kind of sport most all of her life; including softball, volleyball, bowling, and golf. She later enjoyed playing dominos and making trips to Las Vegas and Oklahoma.
Her career was always about numbers. While living in Germany she was an accounting clerk, later moving to Fort Bragg, NC where she began her civil service career working for the Provost Marshall interaction, with military police and the FBI. She kept statistics of different happenings and budgeting funds.
She continued working for the US Veterans Affairs regional office in Waco, TX, returning in 1994 as Financial Manager.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Henrietta and Herman Kurtz; brothers, Joe and David Kurtz; sons, Michael, Steven, and Don Osborne; and granddaughter, Jamie Lynn Osborne;
Mary is survived by her daughter, Gloria Osborne; sister, Millie Dolezel; brother, Adolf Kurtz; grandson, Donny Osborne and wife, Miriam; granddaughter, Rose Osborne; great-grandchildren, Katie, Donny, and Owen Osborne; her special domino and church family; as well as several other good friends and family members.
