Mary Nell McElhannon 87, of Waco, passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2013 after a recent illness. A graveside service will be 11 am Thursday, December 5, at Waco Memorial Park with Rev. Frank Wallace officiating. The family will receive visitors Wednesday from 6-8 pm at Pecan Grove Funeral Home 3124 Robinson Dr.
Mary Nell was born April 14, 1926 to John and Angie Mae West. She was a member of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church, D.A.R., and active in The Baylor Round Table. She organized musical programs for the residents of Ridgecrest Retirement Center; other hobbies were art and writing. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Joe McElhannon.
She is survived by son, Don McElhannon and wife Carol of Robinson; grandchildren, Roger McElhannon and wife Melissa of Mesquite, Andy McElhannon of Robinson, and Jarrod McElhannon and wife Sherry of Robinson; great-grandchildren, Angela, Skyler and Connor.
