Mary was born January 17, 1921 in Limestone County to William Luther and Vera (McCoy) Arney. She married Emil Jaster on July 29, 1938 in Georgetown, Texas. Mary spent most of her life in Falls County in the Cego and Chilton communities. She was known throughout Falls County for her involvement in many organizations, such as her church’s women’s guild, the Marlin Senior Civic Club, Falls County 4-H Club, and Chilton PTA to name a few. Several years after the death of Emil, Mary made the big decision to move to Waco to her new home at Stillwell Assisted Living, a place she dearly loved. She lived at Stillwell until her health issues required more care and she moved to Ridgecrest Retirement where she resided for her final years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Ernest; grandson, Glen Jaster; and Adriana, wife of Micheal Jaster; three brothers, Frank Arney, James M. Arney, Roy Arney; and sisters, Juanita Birkelbach and Nevia Meisch.
Mary is survived by her son, William (Billy) Jaster and wife Joanne of Waco; grandsons, Micheal Jaster of Houston, Cody Jaster and wife Candace of China Spring; granddaughter, Tammy Youngblood and husband Dr. Keith Youngblood of Grandview. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Honorary pallbearers will be old and new friends she has met throughout life’s journey.
