On Saturday, 1-20-2024, Mary Ann Havens, adored wife, and loving mother, walked through the gates of Heaven into the arms of JESUS CHRIST, our loving Savior and LORD. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 3, at First Baptist Church of Riesel, 301 Edwards St, Riesel, TX.
Mary was the only child of Charles and Bessie Clark who preceded her in death.
She was a faithful, Christian wife and loving mother. She devoted her life to JESUS as the wife of her surviving husband, Bobby Floyd Havens of Waco and her five children; Kathryn Havens Benton and husband, Charles of Riesel, Deborah Havens of Cleburne, John Havens and wife, Katherine of Mexia, Rachel Havens Green and husband, Coy of Dublin and Laura Havens Good and husband, Bobby of Cransfil Gap.
Mary Ann and Bobby lived in Austin for a while where they met at Congress Avenue Baptist Church. Both of their families returned home to Dallas, Texas, where their courtship blossomed. They were married on February 24, 1951, at Trinity Baptist Church, 5122 Homer in Dallas, Texas. She and Bobby would have celebrated 73 years of marriage on the 24th of this month. Their first home was located at 2930 Severs St, Oak Cliff, Dallas, Texas, just down the street from Mama and Papa Havens. They later moved to Richardson, Arlington and then, Mansfield, Texas, where all her children grew up. Mary was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Mansfield for many years where she served not only as a member in full, but also as the church librarian. After all of her children were grown, she and Bobby moved to Sandflat, near Cleburne and then to Riesel.
She is also survived by her eleven grandchildren Adam Benton and wife Tiffany, Elisabeth Bienski and husband Wade, Joshua, Nathan and Benjamin Havens, Dr. Rebekah Havens Peters and husband Isaiah, Courtney Lee and husband Marc, Shannon Chick and husband Chad, Aaron Good and wife Ashley, Thomas Good and wife Liz and Stuart Good and fiancé Kandi, and twelve great grandchildren.
Although she will be greatly missed by all of us, we were exceedingly blessed to have her as wife, mother, grand and great grandmother all these years. We rejoice that someday we will be reunited with her fully restored self. Thank you, Lord, for giving her to us.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to FBC missions fund.
