Wanda Beavers, 99, of Mart, TX, went to be with the Lord on January 24, 2024, at her home in Mart. She was honored at a small gathering of her family and close friends on Saturday, January 27, 2024.
Wanda was born on January 11, 1925, in Mexia, TX, to George Washington and Zella Beatrice (Roberts) Archer. She graduated from Prairie Hill High School and attended 4C Business School in Waco. She married Alva Jeff Beavers on June 20, 1946.
Wanda worked as a bookkeeper for both banks in Mart, the Cotton Oil Mill, and Keith Hall’s Chevrolet. When she and Jeff moved to Palestine, she was his secretary until they both retired in 1985. While living in Palestine, she and Jeff were very active in many ministries at Trinity Church. When they moved back to Mart in 2006, they became active at First Methodist Church and had a prayer group every Monday night at their home for many years.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jeff; brother, JW Archer; infant brother, George, Jr; twin sister, Ouida Holland; and sister, Nell Pass.
She is survived by her brother, Don Archer (Billye); daughter, Janis Reid (Jim); son, James (Jim) Beavers (Debbie); grandchildren, Jennifer Reid Wright (Robb), Justin Reid (Kacie), Jeff David Beavers (Sharon), Jeremy Beavers (Jamie), and Joshua Beavers (LaToya); great grandchildren, Montgomery Beavers Smith (Dakota), Noah Wright, Joshua Wright, Emily Kate Wright, Chandler Wright Green (Jordan), Luke Reid, Jack Reid, James Beavers, Jillian Beavers, Jeremiah Beavers, and Jordyn Beavers; two great-great grandchildren, Creighton Smith and Carter Smith. The family would like to thank Brenda Jones and “BeBe” Easter for loving Mom and taking such great care of her. They are so loved.
