Marvin (Marty) Loyse Honey Jr.

Marvin “Marty” Loyse Honey, Jr., 72, of Waco, TX, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2024. Funeral services will be 9:00 am Saturday, October 5th at Pecan Grove Funeral Home with burial immediately following at Oakwood Cemetery.

Marty was born August 17, 1952, to Marvin, Sr., and Joyce (Owen) Honey in Waco, TX. He married Donna Gaye Sellman on October 26, 1978. He worked as a commercial roofer and salesman for over 40 years. He impacted many people he trained and worked with. Marty was an avid fisherman, hunter and outdoorsman. He hunted deer all over Texas and elk in Colorado. He loved fishing on the Brazos with his family and enjoyed going to the dirt track races.

More than anything, Marty loved his family, especially cooking for fish fries and spending time with his grandchildren. He took pride in working hard to provide for his family. Marty never met a stranger. He enjoyed talking to people and listening to their stories. 

Marty was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Joyce Honey. 

He is survived by his wife Donna (Sellman) Honey, who he loved deeply and was devoted to for nearly 46 years; daughter, Krystal Thompson and husband Dwayne; son, Tommy Honey and wife Lana; brother, Nicky Honey and wife Gabby; sister, Mindi Honey; sister, Denise Kalina and husband Chris; grandchildren, Tristyn, Lauren, William, Praisely; Kaylee, Kenzi, Kinley, and Kylie; great-grandchildren, Blaze, Jace, and Hadley; his beloved blue heeler, BB; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
