Marvin Kunze

January 7, 1935 — March 7, 2015

Marvin K. Kunze, 80, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday March 7 in Waco, TX. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, March 11 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2 Ritchie Rd. Woodway, TX. 76712 with Rev Stephen Ryneaerson officiating with burial following at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm till 8:00 pm Tuesday, March 10 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr. in Waco.
Marvin was born January 7, 1935 in Waco, Texas to George and Erna (Schaeper) Kunze. He graduated from Waco Technical High School in 1953 and attended Baylor University. Marvin grew up on a farm between Robinson and Waco where he worked planting and harvesting crops. He enlisted in the US Air Force in April 1957 where he served throughout the United States as well as Vietnam. He enjoyed the Air Force. After retiring from the Air Force he became Assistant Plant Manager at R.M. Crow Company. Even though he worked long and hard, he still had fun times with his daughter Melinda and her husband Brett. Edna, Marvin, and much loved stepdaughter Elaine, for years had Dallas Cowboys season tickets and enjoyed traveling to their games. He and Edna also found time for long exciting motorcycle trips with his brothers and their wives. Marvin was a well-rounded man who always contributed more than his share to his family and country. He was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church at Badger Ranch. He loved his church where he had many friends. He served many years as an elder and attended Bible class faithfully.
He was preceded in death by his parents Erna and George Kunze.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Edna, son Ken and wife Chris, of New Zealand, daughter Melinda Baldwin and husband Brett of Lorena, stepdaughter Elaine Grider of Robinson, brothers Melton and wife Ethel of Austin, Donald and wife Faye of Waco, several nephews and many extended family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Glenn Kunze, Graham Kunze, Dennis Ferguson, John Vorderkunz, Tom Vorderkunz, and Michael Harvey. Honorary pallbearers will be Daniel Wiethorn and Brett Baldwin.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church and the American Lung Association.
