Marvin L. Honey, 86, passed away Thursday, November 13, 2014 at his home in Waco surrounded by his family. A graveside service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 15, at Oakwood Cemetery, under the direction of Pecan Grove Funeral Home.
Marvin was born January 2, 1928 to Van and Louise (Schmidt) Honey. Marvin served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Marvin was a mason for 52 years achieving the degree of Master Mason. He was a member of Fidelis Lodge #1127 and the American Legion.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Van and Louise Honey, and two brothers, Gene Huebner and Buck Honey.
Marvin is survived by his wife, Joy (Owen) Honey; two sons, Nicky Honey and wife Gabby, and Marty Honey and wife Donna; two daughters, Mindi Honey and Jeff Key, and Denise Kalina and husband Chris; one sister, Ann Neal and husband Wayne; sister-in-law, Norvel James; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Marvin’s name can be made to the Salvation Army, 4721 Waco Drive, Waco, 76710 or the Shriner’s Hospital, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, Florida, 33607.
