Martha Ann Shaw, 78, of Riesel, went to be with her Lord on October 6, 2014 in Waco. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 10, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive, Waco. Burial will follow at Riesel Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Arthur and Rev. Reggie Blake officiating. The family will receive visitors 6 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, October 8, at the funeral home.
Martha Ann was born in Waco on December 5, 1935 to Harold R. and Martha E. Brown. She married Robert J. Shaw on November 7, 1953. Martha was an active member of Meier Settlement Church. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also spent many hours with a group of special lady friends playing cards.
Martha is preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Shaw; her parents Harold R. and Martha E. Brown; and brothers James Marshall Brown and Harry R. Brown.
Martha is survived by her children, Marshall (Bimbo) Shaw and wife Patricia, Cynthia Hoelscher and husband Alan, Gary Shaw and wife Vicki, and Peggy Koester and husband Kevin; brothers Robert Brown, Jerry Brown and wife Jo Ann, and sister-in-law Nancy Brown; sisters Flora Dawson and Gail McMullin and husband David; grandchildren Brent Shaw and wife Angela, Daryl Shaw and wife Natalie, Kirk Hoelscher and wife Amy, Brandon Hoelscher and wife Christi, Heather Branch and husband Link, Justin Shaw and wife Brandi, Jared Koester, and Grant Koester; great-grandchildren Tyler Heath, Caleb Hoelscher, Daryl Shaw Jr., Nathan Robert Shaw, Matthew Shaw, Marleigh Branch, Payton Hoelscher, Alexandra Shaw, Abigail Branch, Shelby Shaw, and Caynan Branch.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Tim Martindale and Providence Hospice Place and staff. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Providence Hospice Place, 6700 Sanger Ave, Waco, 76710.
Brent Shaw, Daryl Shaw, Justin Shaw, Heather Branch, Kirk Hoelscher, Brandon Hoelscher, Jared Koester, and Grant Koester will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Dawson and Link Branch.
