Martha (Doodie) Edna Humphrey, 79, of Waco, passed away Monday, January 17, 2022. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 25 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home with Brother Greg Brumit officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Waco Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, January 24 at the funeral home.
Martha was born February 7, 1942 to Albert and Bertha (Dietiker) Bennett in Otto, Texas. She married Eddie Humphrey July 23, 1993 at Kendrick Baptist Church in Waco. Martha was a faithful member at Kendrick Baptist for many years and also attended Beacon Hill Baptist Church. Martha worked at Owens Illinois glass plant for 32 years, retiring in 1994. Some of her favorite things to enjoy were helping others, grooming her flower beds and fostering dogs that needed a place to stay. She was a friend to all and will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one granddaughter; four brothers; and five sisters.
Martha was a loving wife, mother, Granny and friend to many. She is survived by her husband, Eddie Humphrey; daughters, Judy Zapata and Ernest Hesbrook, Melissa Volpert; son, Russell Humphrey and wife Alain; seven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; brother, Harvey Bennett and wife Linda; sister, Betty Black; numerous other family members and friends; along with her furbabies, Teddy Bear and Star.
