Marta Flores Ochoa, 79, of Waco, Texas, passed away on March 10, 2025. She was born on November 11, 1945, in Waco, Texas, to Antonio Flores and Maria Flores Duran.
Marta was the heart of her family; a woman whose love knew no limits. She dedicated her life to raising her children, creating a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unforgettable memories. She did an outstanding job raising her seven children, but her love didn’t stop there. She also took in and raised three of her grandchildren Martha Loa, Abigail Loa, and Paul Loa Jr.—showing them the same unwavering love, strength, and care. She had a heart bigger than life, always putting family first and opening her home to anyone who needed her.
Marta had a deep love for gardening, especially planting roses, finding joy in watching them bloom. She loved dancing, whether it was to oldies, slow songs, or Mexican music, and she made sure every family gathering was filled with laughter and love.
She had a passion for science fiction, watching her favorite shows every night, completely captivated by the worlds beyond our own. She also had a talent for fixing lawnmowers, knowing every part like the back of her hand. She loved fishing in her younger years and had a soft spot for animals, once caring for as many as 50 pets.
Marta was known for her fun-loving spirit, her love for pickles, and the strength and resilience that earned her the nickname “Black Mamba.” She was truly one of a kind, a woman who left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Ochoa; her parents, Antonio Flores and Maria Flores Duran; her sister, Sarah Evangelista; and her beloved son, Paul Loa.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, who will forever carry her love in their hearts: Frank Jr. and Sandy Loa, Tony and Brandy Loa, Rudy and Marisol Loa, Rudy and Michelle Ochoa, Connie and Candy Aguilar, Priscilla and Audie Pate, Mary Francis Loa,
She also leaves behind a legacy of 27 grandchildren, including the three she lovingly raised, and countless cherished memories.
