Margie Walker 86, of Robinson, passed away surrounded by her loving family, Friday, September 13, 2013. The family will receive visitors Tuesday, September 17, from 6-8 pm at Pecan Grove Funeral Home 3124 Robinson Dr. Services will be Wednesday at 10 am at First Baptist Church of Robinson, with Pastor Micheal Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Lost Prairie Cemetery, in Personville TX.
Margie was born July 24, 1927 in Freestone County to William Short and Fannie Cora Samford. She graduated from Fair Oaks High School in 1945. She was married for 67 years to the love of her life, Billy Walker. They were married on August 9, 1946. Margie worked briefly for Southwestern Bell Telephone and Owens Illinois. The majority of her career was with Citizens National Bank of Waco. She and Billy were faithful members of First Baptist Church of Robinson. She loved family reunions and being with her sisters, get togethers with her Sunday School class, going to the lake, and spending time with her kids and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; Short and Fannie Samford, brothers; Vernie, Alvie, Floyd and Dalton Samford, and one sister; Deanie Walton. She is survived by her husband, Billy Walker; two daughters, Donna Maddux and husband Ron of Fredericksburg, Sandy Hahn and husband Henry of Watt; grandchildren, Heather Lopez, Marcy Ward and husband Mark of Fredericksburg, Bradley Kaminsky and wife Monica, Billy Crawford and wife Victoria of San Antonio; great grandchildren, Chelsey Stewart and husband Chase, Madi Lopez, Sadie Lopez, Zuzu Ward, Walker Ward and Morgan Stafford of Fredericksburg, Taylor Stafford, Zach Stafford, Riley Stafford and Harley Stafford of San Antonio; one great great grandchild, Caiden Stewart of Fredericksburg; sisters, Faye McClaran, Bonnie Johnson and husband Charles of Mexia; sister-in-law, Betty Samford of Waco and numerous nieces and nephews.
