Margie Voiles, 83, passed away on October 28, 2021. The family will receive visitors from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, October 31, 2021 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 N. Robinson Dr., Waco. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, November 1, 2021 at Waco Memorial Park with Pastor Heath Kirkwood officiating.
She was born to Herbert and Fannie Mae Linam on August 14, 1938 in Hobbs, New Mexico. She was one of six children. Margie moved frequently when she was young, and then graduated from Connally High School in 1955. She kept in touch with many of her friends from the Connally basketball team she was on. She married Jimmy Voiles on August 31, 1957. They shared 55 years of marriage together. They lived in Lorena and they were blessed with three children. She worked at Owens Illinois for 30 years from 1965-1995. She was blessed to have many great friends and was a long-time member of FBC Lorena. Upon retirement, she and Jimmy were fortunate to travel in their motor home to see 48 of the 50 states. They also enjoyed spending time in Harlingen, TX with many great friends they met through their travels. She will be remembered for the love for her family, enjoying time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her smile, her passion for Lady Bears basketball, and her love of blue grass music.
Margie is survived by her children: Ken Voiles and wife, Brenda, of Frisco, Steve Voiles and wife, Debbie, of Lorena, Vickie Kroll and husband, Cliff, of Lorena; grandchildren: Tara O’Shields and husband, Ryan, Melanie Lombardo and husband, Matt, Josh Voiles, Megan Mobley and husband, Ben, Aimee Y’Barbo and husband, Kolby; great-grandchildren, Brodie and Reagan O’Shields, Levi and Aubrey Lombardo, Maddison, Nathan, and Logan Mobley; sisters-in-law: Barbara Emrich, Denny Linam, Judy Linton; and brother-in-law George Stahn; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jimmy, and her siblings: J.W. Linam, Buster Linam, Lonnie Linam, Violet Stahn, and Leona Stahn.
Pallbearers are: Josh Voiles, Ryan O’Shields, Matt Lombardo, Ben Mobley, Kolby Y’Barbo, and Wayne Olson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Margie’s name to the charity of your choice.
