Margie Nix

Margie Dell Nix, 91, of Waco passed away Monday, January 31, 2022. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, February 10 at Rosemound Cemetery, Waco, with Pastor David Cozart officiating. Services are under the direction of Pecan Grove Funeral Home.

Margie was born March 17, 1930 to Byrd Lee and Frankie Agnes (Marx) Bagley in Falls County, Texas. She married Douglas Nix in 1950. Margie spent her life working hard from the age of 14 working in the Candy Factory until she retired at 85 years old from JC Penny’s. She also worked many other places during that time including Cox’s. Margie was a member of Park Lake Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time in her garden and was a member of the Iris Club at one time. She also loved to sew and spend time as a substitute teacher.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Cathy Lynn Dorcey; grandson, Daniel Lee Dorcey; three brothers; and two sisters.

Margie is survived by her son, Douglas Nix Sr.; grandchildren, Douglas Nix Jr., Alissa Dell Dorcey, Michael Dorcey; great-grandchildren, Douglas Kasey Nix, Aaron Lee Dorcey, Cora Leigh Dorcey; and numerous nieces and nephews.
