Marcelle "Marti" Scott

Marcelle “Marti” Scott passed away peacefully on August 9, 2024, surrounded by her family. Visitation will be Monday, August 12, 2024, from 6-8 PM at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive, Waco, Texas. A Celebration of her Life will be at Oakwood Cemetery, 2124 S. 5th Street, Waco, Texas, on Tuesday, August 13 at 10 AM.

Marti was born February 27, 1952 in Amarillo, Texas, to Thomas and Ruth Lalley

She was a strong, and independent woman. She instilled in her children the importance of giving of themselves. She did this by living the example which they needed to see. She was a most unselfish individual, and everything she did and accomplished was to better her family. Marti married Marty Scott in 2001.

She loved writing poetry, being Irish, celebrating St. Patrick’s Day, and family gatherings with her children and grandchildren. Some of the best times of her life was when she was having movie nights and sleep overs with her grandchildren.

Marti is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Marty Scott, her daughter, Lisa Landon and spouse Steve Landon, daughter Kim Anderson and spouse David Worley, son John Anderson and spouse, Keri Anderson, son Thomas Lechler and spouse Kayeleigh Pierce, daughter Sandy Stanford and spouse Josh Brooks.

Marti is also survived by her 10 grandchildren: Christen Sutton, Katelyn Bridger, Reagan Griffin, Hayley Worley, Tyler Worley, Grant Anderson, Connor Anderson, Leah Lechler, Cayden Stanford, and Caylea Stanford. Also left to live out her legacy are 6 great-grandchildren: Lillian Bridger, McKenzleigh Bridger, Miles Ayala, Ashton Ayala, Nolan Ayala, and Logan Worley.
