Mable Consuelo Solis, of Brownwood, TX, age 89, a resident of Hewitt, TX passed away peacefully on the evening of July 6, 2020 of natural causes. Mable is preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Raul Solis, Baptist Pastor and educator of Odessa, TX, her mother Guadalupe Roman Reyes, her father Macario Reyes, her sister, Jane Nava of Brownwood, TX, her brother Edward Reyes of Ft. Worth, TX, her son, Joshua Solis of Waco, TX, grandson, Adrian Solis of Odessa, TX, grandson, Kelly Moore of Axtel, TX, granddaughter, Christina Solis of Brownwood, TX, and great-granddaughter, Annalynn Solis of Brownwood, TX.

She is survived by her brother Belisario Reyes of Ft. Worth, TX, her sons, Raul Solis, Jr. of Sunset Valley, TX, Hiram Solis of Axtell, TX, Robert Solis of Brownwood, TX, and her daughter, Theresa J. Solis of Euless, TX. Mrs. Solis is survived by 9 grandchildren, Xochi Solis, Marina Azul Quintanilla Solis, Lori Gutierrez, Elizabeth Solis, Trina Butler, Megan Scheriger, Joshua Solis, Gregory Solis and Danny Solis. Mrs. Solis is survived by 13 great grandchildren, Lincoln Butler, Lola Butler, Anna Rose Butler, Alyssa Butler, Tina Gonzales, Emma Scheriger, Trinity Faith Scheriger, Jessa Solis, Zoey Isabella Gutierrez, Milton Rodolfo Gutierrez II, Ximena Anais Rodriguez, Lorenzo Rodriguez, and Diego A. Rodriguez.

Mable Solis graduated from Paschal High School in Ft. Worth, TX and earned her teaching degree at Howard Payne University in Brownwood, TX where she met her husband. She enjoyed serving alongside her husband, Raul in the Baptist ministry in cities across Texas, i.e. O'Brien, Post, Pecos, Hondo, Ozona, and Odessa, Texas. She took courses toward her education administrative certification from Stephen F. Austin University. She served her community as a bilingual and ESL elementary classroom school teacher in the Ector County Public Schools, Waco Independent School District, where she earned Teacher of the Year recognition at Bells Hill E.S., the Bruceville-Eddy I.S.D. and Lorena I.S.D. Reading instruction was her passion and dedication to instill a love for learning in her many students throughout 45 years of her teaching profession. Mrs. Solis retired from teaching in 2012 while still continuing reading tutorials after school with neighborhood children. She loved taking piano lessons, playing in recitals across the Waco area and playing piano for family and friends. Mrs. Solis contributed to the community and served on the Board of the Hewitt Public Library System in Hewitt, TX. She also served as a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity, Meals on Wheels, and a poll worker at her local voting location in Hewitt, TX. Mrs. Solis enjoyed book studies, bible study, music, playing her beloved piano, jigsaw puzzles, and being with family and friends. She was a member and attended services at Central Baptist Church of Waco, TX.
