Loyd Ray Springer, 82, joined his beloved wife, Shirley, on April 20, 2014. He passed away at his home in Robinson. We rejoice knowing he no longer has to struggle to breath, and he is now with our mother. The family will receive visitors, Tuesday, April 22, from 6-8 PM at Pecan Grove Funeral Home 3124 Robinson Dr. Services will be 10 AM, Wednesday, April 23, at Meadowbrook Baptist Church, 1207 N. Old Robinson Rd. with Pastor Paul Rummage officiating. Burial will follow at Robinson Cemetery.
Loyd was born, March 24, 1932, to Scott and Mary (Goin) Springer in Crawford, OK. He always considered Western Oklahoma to be his home. He married the love of his life, Shirley Jane Fair on, January 25, 1958.
He served in the United States Army, during the Korean Conflict. He managed the laundry at the VA Hospital, for over 25 years, first in Oklahoma City, then Denver, and finally Waco. He was a faithful member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley; and four sisters.
He is survived by his children, Rod Springer and wife, Sara, of Troy, Tronda Monger and husband, Steve, of Frisco, and Marty Springer and wife, Cherise, of Madisonville, LA; grandchildren, Hope and Blake Springer, Luke Monger and Amanda and Jake Springer; sister, Mae Sue Bright; brothers, Scott and George Springer.
Memorials may be made to Meadowbrook Baptist Church in his name.
Pallbearers will be, Ervin Davis, James Lauderdale, Don Markum, Delmond Rosenkranz, Blake and Jake Springer.
