Louise Gilcrease (Holcomb), 91, of Waco, Texas, passed away Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Senior Care of Hewitt. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, February, 10 at Rosemound Cemetery in Waco, with Pastor David Cozart officiating.
Louise was born June 17, 1930 to David and Jewell Gilcrease in McKinney, Texas. She has always kept very busy caring for and raising her grandchildren until they were grown. Then she also would babysit some of her great grandchildren. Louise enjoyed raising her birds as well.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Betty Holcomb Dodd; husband James Matthew Holcomb; son-in-law, Rocky Black; great-grandson, Mathew Moravec; parents, David and Jewell Gilcrease; sisters, Gladys Price, Pinkie Barden; brothers, RB Gilcrease, Douglas Gilcrease.
Louise is survived by her daughter, Billie Black; son, Jim Holcomb; and daughter, Ima Jean Holcomb; sisters, Pauline Durr and Rhonda Nelson; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews.
Louise loved life, bingo, and her family. Her last six years were spent at Senior Care of Hewitt Nursing Home, where she was very happy and had great care. Billie, her daughter, was there to visit her every day to make sure she knew she was loved and cared for.
