Lara Curry Fletcher, known as Lori by family and friends, passed away early Friday morning in Waco. She was surrounded by the love of her children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, and long-time friends.
Lori was born on December 7, 1958, in Ballinger, TX, to Lula Belle Treadwell and John Floyd Curry. She is survived by two sisters, Lyn Rieger (husband Ronnie) and Becky Curry, and was preceded in death by her eldest sister, Kathy Salinas. She dearly loved her sons Dustin (wife Jennifer), Jay, and Logan, and she was a best friend and confidant to her daughter Hannah, whose own daughter affectionately referred to her beloved grandmother as "Cookie". Lori is now reunited with her grandson Michael Terral.
Lori attended La Vega high school with the class of 1977 and remained life-long friends with many of her former classmates. She worked for more than two decades with Bob and Kay Bond in Waco, and she enjoyed travelling in and out of the country. She shared many of her fondest experiences with her closest friend Kathy Sanders, and she loved to visit her aunt Loretta Treadwell in Kerrville.
Lori will be remembered as a strong, resilient woman who never lost her sharp sense of humor or easy laugh no matter what she faced. Her passing will be deeply felt by those who loved and were loved by her, and we will always be thankful to have had her in our lives. There was no one else like her, and she was ours.
Family and friends are invited to say goodbye to Lori at 10 AM on Wednesday, July 20th, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home on Robinson Drive. Afterwards, a short graveside ceremony will then be followed at 12:45 PM by a gathering at El Conquistador on Waco Drive. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a monetary donation to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in honor of Lori's memory.
