Lonnie G. Miller (aka Stormy George), 82, of Robinson, TX passed peacefully surrounded by family in his home on October 28, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Loura Miller of Lacy Lakeview, TX; wife, Carolyn Craig Miller of Robinson, TX; brother, Allen Miller of Beverly Hills, TX; sister, Shirley Jean Miller, of Robinson, TX; two infant brothers; one grandson; and a great grandson.
He is survived by his sister, Laura Faye Tackett of Arlington, TX. He is also survived by his children and their families: Lisa Miller Hollingsworth of Robinson, TX; Johnathan Craig of Allen, TX; Lonnie Keith Miller of Boardman, OR; Jeffrey Craig of Allen, TX; Barbara Miller Pomper of Ashuelot, NH; and Krystal Miller Castro of Robinson, TX. He is also survived by 25 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and many beloved nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Mr. Miller entered the US Navy, October 1959 after graduating from La Vega High School. After proudly serving his country, for over 21 years, he retired as an E7 Chief Avionics Electronic Technician and returned to his generational home, Waco, TX. He graduated from TSTI in August of 1991 with an Associate’s Degree in Electronics. He then retired from TSTC after 20 years of employment. Mr. Miller loved Christmas and even played Santa for his church, charity, and for neighborhood children. He also loved family gatherings. A favorite family pastime was playing Bluegrass music while young and old alike would clap their hands and sing along. Mr. Miller often played host to family and friends who visited Waco. If the house was crowded, he would just say, “Don’t worry, I’ll hang another nail; y’all come on!”
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, November 7 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home with burial immediately following at Waco Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, November 6 at the funeral home.
