Linda was born on June 10, 1954 in Corsicana, TX. She was an accomplished professional who dedicated 23 years to Baylor University; after earning her associate’s degree while working full-time and raising three boys, she became an invaluable asset to the faculty and staff in the School of Music, as well as a mentor to students. Her happiest moments were spent with her family, and she took care to not only understand and support her children, but also encourage them to be independent, self-sufficient, and kind. Most importantly, she inspired them to be happy. Her legacy is a close and loving family; she was our confidant and our friend, and she taught us to be that to each other. We will remember her for the way she loved being a “Nana,” her willingness to accept others for who they are, and, of course, her signature cornbread stuffing.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Steve; sons, Chad, Matt, and Andy; grandchildren, Jordan and Harrison; mother, Ruth; and siblings, Jeanette, Larry, Wayne, Richard, Terry, and Julie.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages you to make donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
