Linda C. Hagar, 79, of Waco, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Tuesday, March 24, 2020. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Linda was born September 22, 1940, in Waco, TX, to Mintlow (M.L.) and Peggy (Molbach) Gaines. She married Bob Hagar September 19, 1958; they spent nearly 55 years together until his passing in 2013. Linda worked at Community Bank and Trust, retiring after 45 years as Senior Vice President. She loved her work family and her customers very much. She also loved spending time with friends and family. Her yearly Fourth of July trips with her best friend since high school, Vondel Schaeper, were never missed. Every Thursday Linda and her daughter, Tobe, along with Vondel, would have their four hour lunch at Rosa’s Cafe, where they would eat, drink tea and talk for hours; she was always happy when her granddaughter, Alexa, would make a surprise appearance and join them. Linda would also meet regularly with her friends from the bank; they called themselves the “Community Cuties” and even had their own Facebook page. Linda enjoyed taking her grandson, Daman, to Kim’s Diner often when he was little. Family time was very important to Linda. She loved spending time on their houseboat with family and friends on “F” Dock at the Lake Waco marina in Speegleville.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Hagar; her parents; and daughter-in-law, Linette Hagar.
She is survived by her children, Brent Hagar and wife Kay, Nolan Hagar, and Tobe Hagar; grandchildren, Daman Hagar and wife Rebecca, Alexa Hagar and Ivy Coffee; and her great-granddaughter, Arya “Buggy B” Rose Hagar. She is also survived by sister-in-law, Cindy Jones and husband Charles; along with several nieces, great-nieces and great-nephews.
