Linda Devers

July 25, 1962 — October 17, 2009

Linda Sue Devers, 47, of Robinson, passed away Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009, at a local nursing facility, after a long battle with cancer, surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr., in Waco, with the Rev. Dell Bredemeyer and the Rev. Tom Ledbetter officiating, and Jordan Kirkpatrick delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow at Robinson Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, at the funeral home.
Linda Sue was born July 25, 1962, in Waco, to W.C. Taylor and Margaret Faye Gretchner Taylor. She attended and graduated from Robinson High School in the Class of 1981. She married the love of her life, David Devers, in Robinson, Nov. 7, 1981. She then enrolled in M.C.C., and graduated with a B.A. in Radiology. She worked over 15 years as a Radiology Tech for both the VA hospital in Temple and in Waco, helping our veterans. She loved to take pictures of everything and anything, and always had her camera available.. She loved watching the Robinson Rockets play baseball and football. She enjoyed eating hamburgers and visiting with the "Dubl-R Gang." More than anything, she loved her family and especially spoiling her grandson, Kayden.
Linda was preceded in death by her father, W.C. Taylor.
She is survived by her loving husband of over 28 years, David Devers; daughters, Tamara and Deedra Devers, both of Robinson; grandson, Kayden Devers of Robinson; mother, Margaret Faye Taylor, also of Robinson; brothers, Ricky Taylor and wife, Judy, of Waco, and Johnny Taylor and wife, Terri, of Lorena; nephews, Jason Devers, Josh Taylor and wife, Kristin, and Tyson Taylor; nieces, Jessica Sykora and husband, Jason, Brittany Taylor, Ashley and Samantha Devers, and Kelliegh Devers.
A "Special Thanks" to the VA employees for all of their helping and standing by Linda during her fight with cancer. Donations may be made to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Breast Cancer, 2911 Herring Ave., Waco.
