Letha LaRue Whatley, of Hewitt, left this earth for her eternal home on December 19, 2017, to forever be with our Lord and Savior. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 21, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive, Waco, with Rev. Daron Farmer officiating. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the funeral, beginning at 1:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Interment will be at Rosemound Cemetery.
Letha LaRue was born to Jack and Letha Shook on January 14, 1933, on a farm in McLennan County. As a young girl she played the piano for Shiloh and Speegleville Baptist Church. Later in life she owned Whatley’s Alpha Omega Security.
Preceding Letha in death were her parents, Jack and Letha Shook and a brother, Douglas Shook.
Letha is survived by her two sons, Terry Schnizer and wife Rita of Terrell and Randy Schnizer of Waco; daughter, Pam Comfort and husband Steve of Hewitt; her beloved sister Jackie Sue Lake and husband Roy Lee of Arkansas; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Steve Comfort, Jonathan Henneke, Reid Jacobs, Logan Carney, Grant Henneke, and Curt Hancock.
