Lester Elvin Knight

September 12, 1924 — October 18, 2024

Lester Elvin Knight was the first to be born to George Henry (Bogue) and Jennie Knight at their home on September 12,1924 in Speegleville,Tx.

He was raised on their family's dairy farm with his nine siblings. After leaving the farm, he worked for over 35 years at the Cameron Mills Woodwork company where he happily retired from the year they closed down. In 1953 he attended the 'New World Society' International convention at Yankee Stadium in New York City. On September 23 of that same year in a local river, he dedicated his life to Jehovah while at a circuit assembly in Waco, Tx.

Shortly after he met his wife Edith Eve Schroeder. Their love for Jehovah and his people drew them together, and sparked a life time of love and service. In 1954 on December 11, they were married and bought a home on Foster Ave in Robinson,Tx. where they raised four children and enjoyed over 44 years of marriage.

He enjoyed camping with his family and friends in Colorado, hunting & fishing with cousins in Lampasas, playing (and usually winning) Dominoes, gardening, visiting the Texas coast line, making wine, ice cream, pecan pies, and drinking beer and Dr Pepper with anyone who stopped by to visit.

He was appointed as an elder when the arrangement began in 1973 and served his congregation his entire life. He had the privilege of attended four schools for Christian Elders. In January of 2022 he was the oldest person to get a hunting license and scored an 8 point buck on opening weekend in Coryell County with a single shot from his .243 rifle at 70 yards - with no glasses.

He entered into rest on October 18,2024.
