Leo Whatley

Leo Burl Whatley, 83, passed away Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 20, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive, Waco, with Pastor Wayne Blackshear officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors 6 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 19, at the funeral home.
Leo was born March 8, 1934, in Mt. Calm, TX, to John and Colossee Whatley. He was a longtime member of Primrose Baptist Church, where he was a deacon. Leo retired from the Waco Fire Department, where he was a fireman for over 20 years.
Leo was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Adam, Douglas, Rayford, Cherry and Fayrene.
Leo is survived by his wife of 64 years, Margie Whatley; son, Glenn Whatley and wife Holly of Cedar Park; grandson Tucker Whatley, of Austin; and brother, Weldon Whatley of Randolph, TX.
