Lawrence John Kostroun Sr., 74, of Robinson, formerly of Cameron, passed away Oct. 15, 2009, at his residence, surrounded by his family. Rosary services will be 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, at St. Monica's Catholic Church, 306 S. Nolan Ave. in Cameron, Texas, with the Rev. Juan Carlos Lopez officiating. According to his wishes, a private Mass and interment of his remains will be at a later time. Local arrangements are under the direction of Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive in Waco.
Lawrence was born Aug. 11, 1935, in Cameron, to Joe and Lillian Matl Kostroun. He finished high school and attended trade school and became a Class "A" machinist. He married the love of his life, Betty Mayer on Nov. 14, 1959, in Burlington, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Lawrence is survived by his wife of 49 years, Betty Kostroun, of Robinson; sons, "Chip" Kostroun Jr. and wife, Sarah, also of Robinson, and Mark Kostroun and wife, Lisa of Temple; grandchildren, Heather, Megan and Allison Kostroun of Robinson and Morgan Kostroun of Temple; sister, Lillian Beach and husband, Lawrence, of Manor; three brothers; aunt, Ann Paruzinski, of Temple; and uncle, Johnny Matl and wife, Johnnie, of Rockdale; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
