Laverna McGee

Laverna Ann McGee passed away on April 28, 2022. Funeral services will be 1:00p.m., Tuesday, May 3, at Trinity at Badger Ranch Church, 2 Ritchie Rd, Woodway, TX, with Pastor Kevin Lentz officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Rosemound Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m., Monday, May 2, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, Waco.
On August 18, 1923, Laverna was born to Louis and Louise Lehrmann in Riesel, Texas. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church, Riesel, by Reverend E.A. Heckman. She graduated from Riesel High School in 1941. In 1946 she married Edward McGee of Waco. They were blessed with two sons, Tommy McGee and Mark McGee. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1969.
Her teaching career started at St. Mark Lutheran School, Waco, where she taught kindergarten for 23 years. She later received a call to teach at Calvary Assembly of God, Robinson, teaching there for 9 years.
Besides teaching, she had other interests such as gardening, sewing, and crafts. After retiring from teaching, she started working for H.E.B. as a customer service representative. She was a member of Trinity at Badger Ranch Church.
Her survivors include her sons, Tommy McGee and wife Brenda; and Mark McGee; one grandson, Andy McGee and wife Stacey; two great-grandsons, Cooper and Brody; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Memorials may be made in Laverna’s name to Trinity at Badger Ranch.
