LaVerle Scott Taylor, of Bruceville-Eddy, passed away Saturday morning October 26, 2024, at the age of 93. Graveside services and interment will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday November 1st, 2024, at Eddy Cemetery, 9823 N. I-35 Frontage Rd., Eddy, TX 76524, under the direction of Pecan Grove Funeral Home with Pastor Robyn Ford officiating.
LaVerle was born on December 18, 1930, in Bruceville-Eddy, TX. After graduating from Bruceville-Eddy High School she went to work for Amicable Life Insurance Co and K-Mart. On September 21, 1953, she married the love of her life, Henry Lee Taylor and together they raised two children. LaVerle enjoyed her volunteer work with organizations such as Bruceville-Eddy VFD, BEHS Ex-Student Association, and was a beloved member of Bruceville-Eddy United Methodist Church. If she was not providing her services, you could always find her drinking coffee at the local cafe with many of her friends. LaVerle was devoted to her family and cherished the time spent with her loved ones. She will be greatly missed by those who were blessed to call her Mom and Nanaw but she will always be in our hearts.
LaVerle was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Lee Taylor, parents Irvin Johnnie and Emma McLennan (Gaines) Scott; brother, Rubert Scott; and one grandson, Billy K. "BK" Robinson.
Survivors include her son, Tim Taylor and wife, Patricia of Eddy; daughter, Shelly Phelps and husband, David of Eddy; five grandchildren, Britney Cheyne and husband, Dennis, Jake Taylor and wife, Victoria, Dustin Phelps and wife, Courtney, Brian Robinson and wife, Amy, and Jason Robinson and eleven great-grandchildren, Tripp, Lesley, Dustin, Asher, Joleigh, Rosie, Weston, Gracey, Zayden, Brycen, and Hagen; along with many lifelong friends.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jake Taylor, Dustin Phelps, Dennis Cheyne, Brian Robinson, Jason Robinson and John Duty.
Memorials may be made to Bruceville-Eddy VFD or Eddy Cemetery Association. The family would like to extend a very special Thank You to all the staff at St. Anthony’s Care Center and Community Healthcare Hospice especially her dear friend Chaplain Luke.
