Laura Williams

Laura Williams, 87, formerly of Houston, passed away peacefully at home with her family surrounding her on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 in Robinson. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit, 1624 Wooded Acres Dr., Waco, with Father Jason Ingalls officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Pecan Grove Funeral Home.

Laura was born on January 2, 1928 to Leo and Mary Weinberg in Midland, Michigan. She married the love of her life, Oras Williams on October 30, 1964 in Houston. Laura was a current member at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit, but long time member of Church of the Redeemer Episcopal of Houston. She spent many years as a director and playwright at Company on Stage in Houston. Laura loved the Lord, she lived to walk and walked to live.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Mary Weinberg; brother, Russell Weinberg; sisters, Norine Lunsford and Thelma Wagner.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Oras Williams; daughter, Melody Watson and husband Jimmy; sons, Martin Williams and Jeffrey Williams; grandchildren, Kelly Tovar and husband Juan, Landry Watson, Timothy Watson, Zachary Williams; great-grandchildren, Brianna Tovar and Jacob Tovar; sister, Patricia Dexter; many nieces and nephews; and extended family, Lee Myers and Linda Myers.
