Landra Vaughn

Landra Kay Guthrie Vaughn, 61, of Waco, Texas died at home on Sunday, June 9, 2024. 

Born on April 17, 1963, in San Antonio, Texas, Landra grew up in Hawaii, Virginia, and San Antonio, graduating from Tom C. Clark High School in San Antonio in 1981.   

After high school she worked in several small businesses and lived in several Texas cities, including Marble Falls, Victoria, and Houston, before settling in Waco, where she earned an Associate’s Degree from McLennan Community College. She loved her family, friends, and neighbors, frequently cooking for her neighbors. And she especially enjoyed visiting with her cousins at Lake Whitney. 

She leaves her devoted husband of 24 years, Jerry Vaughn. She also leaves her daughter Baylor Kay Stapleton and husband Syed Mazhar and grandchildren Sarah and Yunus.  She also leaves Darryl, Desiréé, Joe, Rebecca, and their families. She leaves her brother Stan Guthrie and wife Rhonda; brother Darren Guthrie and wife Carol. She also leaves her aunts, Faye Estein, and Geraldine Whitlow, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and their families. 

Landra was preceded in death by her parents, Earle Vincent Guthrie and Elnora Jane Wilkerson Guthrie.

The family invites everyone to join them at the graveside service, which will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday June 18th at Mesquite Cemetery, the Reverend E. David Henry officiating.
