Landon Lane Barnhart, 90, of Rosebud, Texas passed away Sunday, February 2, 2025 in Temple. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Monday, February 10th at Powers Chapel Cemetery, 546 FM 2027, Rosebud, Texas with Pastor David Cozart officiating.
Landon was born April 11, 1934 to R.H. and Ruth (Curlee) Barnhart in Mart, Texas. He was married to Hazel Diver Barnhart for 63 years until her passing in 2020. Landon worked at Central Freight Lines for 29 years until his retirement. He spent his time gardening and working in the pecan orchard. He had some of the best tomatoes and watermelons around. Landon loved playing his guitar; he was especially fond of country and gospel music. In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing and camping with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Hazel; brothers, Eugene, Hugh and Bob Barnhart; and sister, Margie Pistole.
Landon is survived by his daughters, Lisa Baker and husband Steve, Melanie Pomykal and husband Paul; grandchildren, Krystal Cruse and husband Brian, Scott Baker, Robbi Nutt and husband Kevin, Randy Pomykal and wife Kylie; great-grandchildren, Ashlyn, Austin and Brooklyn Nutt, Austin and Layne Cruse; sister-in-law, Lynda Cocke and husband Milton; brother-in-law, David Diver; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
