Kerri Beth Smith, 39, passed peacefully from this life into the arms of the Lord on May 12, 2023, surrounded by family and friends. A celebration of life will be held at Pecan Grove Funeral Home on Thursday, May 18, 2023, from 6 – 8 pm.
Kerri was born in Waco on July 17, 1983, to Clayton Smith and Annetta Boelter Green. She grew up and attended school in Robinson where she made many lifelong friends. Some of Kerri’s fondest memories were from when she was a cheerleader at Robinson. After graduating in 2001, she moved to Lubbock where she attended Texas Tech University. Kerri graduated from Tech in 2005 with a Bachelor of Business Administration and Marketing. She lived in Dallas and California for a time before moving back to Waco. Kerri’s beautiful smile and bubbly personality could light up a room! She was full of fun, laughter and silliness, which always made her a hit with the kids! She never ran out of things to talk about and denied that she was high maintenance! Boy, will we miss her!
Kerri was predeceased by her grandparents, J.D. (Shorty) and Mary Smith and Wilfred (Red) and Willie Mae Boelter. She was also predeceased by her cousin, Stephen Hernandez.
She is survived by her parents, Clayton and Caryn Smith and Annetta and Louis Green; sisters, Toni Winkelmann and Ashley Winkelmann; stepsisters, Brandi Green, Melissa Green and Kimberly Cardenas; nieces, Taylor Winkelmann, Alexis Lewis, Morgan Dodd, Azariah McCollum and Isabel Cardenas; special friends, Nick Flowers and Eddie Cortez, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
The family would like to expressly thank the Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest ICU and Hospice staff for the special care they gave to Kerri.
In lieu of flowers, the family designates the Humane Society of Central Texas for any donations made in Kerri’s memory.
