Kenneth “Poofer” Lee Fleischhauer, 51, of Riesel, passed away Friday, April 7, 2017. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 12, at Friedens Cemetery, Riesel, TX, with Pastor Carroll Hambrick officiating. The family will receive visitors 6 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 11, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive, Waco.
Poofer was born July 6, 1965, to Wilburn and Erna Fleischhauer, in Kansas City, Missouri. His father was in the Air Force, so the family moved frequently until they moved to Riesel, TX, where Poofer lived until his death. He married Kathy Willis on May 16, 1992. Poofer was a deputy with the McLennan County Sherriff’s office for 26 ½ years until his retirement a few years ago. Much of that time was at the McLennan County courthouse, assigned to Judge George Allen’s court.
Poofer was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of almost 25 years, Kathy Fleischhauer; daughter, Kelli Kojis and husband Matt; son, Matthew Fleischhauer; brother Donald Fleischhauer and wife Dorothy; sister, Deborah Barker and husband Roger; sister, Audrey Doskocil; brother, Thomas Fleischhauer and wife Tonya; mother-in-law, Patsy Willis; sister-in-law, Karen Armbruster and husband Terry; his three babies, Sister, Buddy, and Cra-Cra; along with many friends he has made in his lifetime.
Following the service, there will be a luncheon at the Riesel Lions Club, 1270 E Frederick St, Riesel, TX 76682.
