She attended Graham High School and graduated from University High School in Waco, TX. She worked for Aramark – Baylor dining services since August 2007. For the last two years she was the lead cashier and lead prep cook at Season’s Sushi Café in the North Village Community Center.
Kayla married the love of her life, Johnie William Elsenburg IV on June 15, 2010. They were soon blessed with the joyous birth of their daughter Emma Marie Elsenburg. Kayla was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She was kind, loving, and giving to a fault. She loved her husband and daughter and was so proud of their every accomplishment. She was ever attentive and gentle with her little Emma Marie and was never heard uttering a harsh word or raising her voice with her. From infancy, she began teaching her daughter American Sign Language and Spanish in addition to English. She was a second mommy to her nephew Cary Nicholas who loved her dearly. She had great affection for people and was instantly loved by everyone she met. She was affectionately known by many friends and family as “KK”. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed making little surprises with Emma for Johnie. She also loved to sing and could often be heard coming around the corner before you could see her. Kayla was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and attended the Northcrest Kingdom Hall. She found great joy in serving her God Jehovah and his son Jesus Christ shoulder to shoulder with her husband and their daughter and teaching others to love them too.
Kayla was preceded in death by her grandmother Pam “Granny” Radloff who she loved dearly and spoke of daily.
